This large, stemmed aloe cultivar displays a stunning array of red-to-white, densely flowered racemes arranged on multiple, well-structured inflorescences. Its flower time is from midwinter to early spring. Plants start flowering at a young age, adding to the flower annually as the plant bulks up, until the flower looks too big for the plant it emanates from.
The plant itself is well-structured with grey-green leaves lined with smallish, pale spines. Stem shoots are rare but mature plants may divide their rosettes as they approach maturity. It may be planted in a container but experience shows that plants that are given the freedom of sending their roots where they please, i.e. on the open rockery, will out-flower the ones kept in pots. It is, without a doubt, one of the top aloes in the Sunbird Aloes range.
