Large and unique, this aloe is a natural mutation of a normal, orange-flowered hybrid.
As the name indicates, leaves, spines and individual flowers are much larger than those on the original plant. It flowers from mid-winter to spring and the large orange racemes are very decorative at this time. Inflorescences have multiple racemes. A slow-growing trunk develops with age.
Because of its size, “Oranje XL” is best suited to open area planting. To allow maximal development of the large rosette, stem shoots should be removed, should they occur.
Best recorded flowering performance from a single rosette: 3 inflorescences and a total of 15 racemes.
